Why would my wife decide to be celibate at such a young age?

I hope this column aint only for women. I  earnestly desire the advice of kfbers on a marital issue I am currently facing.

I got married in 2010 to my beautiful wife; she actually is the woman of my dreams. We are blessed with three wonderful kids.

After our marriage, we agreed we would only have a kid so that we could focus on our career since we are both young but we apparently did not make preparations and she got pregnant again when our first child was a year old.

When she found out she was pregnant, the first thing she could think about was an abortion. I was able to persuade her and she gave birth to a set of twins.
The twins are about two years old now and all seemed okay until a month ago.

My 25 years old wife whom I love so much told me the weirdest thing I have ever heard. In her words,

“…I want us to stop having sex for the main time”. I asked why and she just gave what I call a flimsy excuse. As a husband that should understand his wife, I gave in to her demand.

Prior to this time, our sex life has been great. We both wanted to have sex. So I thought by “main time” she meant a week or so. But when she didn’t say anything after 28days, I couldn’t take it anymore so I sat her down few days ago and asked her why.

My wife there again told me the most unbelievable thing I ever heard. In her words, “…I love you so much honey, but I have decided to be CELIBATE for the next 6months…and I want us to do this together”. At first I thought she was afraid of getting pregnant again, I told her there were other things we could do if she didn’t want to get pregnant, but she said there are other reasons why she was not going to have sex with me for the next 6months.

First, she didn’t even tell me before she took such decision and secondly, she wants me to be CELIBATE for 6months. I haven’t had to cheat on my wife since we met. She is all I ever want in a woman. But this one is too big for me to handle. I told her I would need some time to think about it.

I know she can’t be cheating on me with another guy, but why would a wife not want to have sex with her husband. I can’t force her to sleep with me, I have never had to, I don’t want to cheat on her and I don’t want to be CELIBATE. WHAT DO I DO?
