The Amnesty International (AI) will this Wednesday launch a report that will focus on the activities and human rights records of the Camerounian Armed forces in their counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in the northern part of their country.
The AI's Press Officer, Mr. Sadibou Marong, in a statement yesterday, said that the report to be launched in Younde, Cameroun today is titled: 'Human rights under fire: Attacks and violations in Cameroon's struggle with Boko Haram'.
According to Marong, the report demonstrates how nearly 400 civilians have been killed in dozens of Boko Haram attacks since January 2014.
He also said a report will reveal how alleged heavy-handed response by Camerounian security forces and inhumane prison conditions have led to dozens more deaths.
At the press conference, he added, the author of the report and AI's regional director for West and Central Africa will discuss the findings and recommendations and be available for interviews.
