- Labrador spots baby sleeping without his blanket wrapped around him
- He gets to work and flicks blanket over the newborn's legs with his nose
- Pooch then tucks the baby in with his muzzle before leaving him sleep
- Baby momentarily sobs when dog walks away, then settles down again
This pooch is more than just man's best friend and he proved it by taking on the parental responsibilities and tucking the family's newborn baby into bed.
The heart-warming video, which is believed to have been filmed in America, shows the baby catching up on his sleep with his face down on the sofa.
The attentive pet Labrador approaches, and after noticing that the baby does not have his blanket wrapped around him, sets about putting that right.
The baby was sleeping on the sofa when the attentive pooch approached and wrapped him up in the blanket
The dog uses his nose to carefully flick the blanket from the sofa so that it covers the baby's tiny body
He starts on one side and with a single swift movement covers the youngster's legs before moving further along the sofa.
The pooch then begins flicking more of the blanket towards the baby so that he is completely covered before he then uses his nose to tuck him in.

After a few prods the baby is all secured in place and realising that his work is done, the Labrador wanders off to leave the baby to rest.
All the while the video maker, who has presumably seen the dog do this before, keeps his distance and allows the surrogate parent to do his work.
The video concludes with the baby sensing the dog has wandered away and crying gently for him to return before settling back down once again to the land of nod.
